Oportun is growing rapidly and is looking for a talented, passionate, innovative Principal-level Product Manager to be a key leader in enriching and leveraging Oportun’s customer data (across products, services, and channels) to build differentiated experiences.  In this role, you’ll have responsibility for customer data and personalization, product eligibility, communication preferences, client page and more.  You will articulate product strategy, set objectives and key results, define roadmaps and work with the cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class solutions.  If you are an amazing cross-functional leader, thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for data, join Oportun and grow with one of the most innovative and progressive FinTech companies.


7-10+ years of product management experience in high-growth environments, with experience in the financial services industry (FinTech, challenger bank, etc.) highly preferred.

Prior customer data platform or customer data infrastructure experience

Experience working cross functionally with leaders from many disciplines (Data Science, Marketing Compliance, CX, Operations, Fraud, Technology, Security, Legal) to understand needs, define features, and prioritize and manage scope to operate in an iterative agile delivery framework

Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills, including the ability to persuade and influence a broad spectrum of constituents at all levels, including senior management.

Experience with dynamic content delivery, supporting both end users and internal agent facing systems, and delivering both online and within the enterprise

Experience supporting support a multi-national (US & MX) workforce and multi-cultured end user base

Understanding of modern architecture design principles and technologies, covering all layers of the development and infrastructure stack in order to work with developers on the design and build of features

Experience with innovative data strategies, technologies, and processes that specialize in the underbanked customer segments is preferred.
