Position Description:



 



Bennett Aerospace, Inc. has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Business Development/Sales Manager located in either the Washington, DC area or at the Headquarters office in Raleigh, NC. The Successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating capture activities that successfully navigate the company out of the 8a program and into the broader small business and full and open market. The successful candidate will interface directly with customers and partners and managing internal Business Development and Proposal staff to provide successful, winning proposals. 



Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities/Duties:



 



Grow the opportunity pipeline, to include  diligent and timely identification of new business opportunities



Develop and execute tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of opportunities



Conduct customer visits and perform research to understand current customer needs and requirements



Oversee capture and proposal activities



Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies



Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews



Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers in selected markets



Assist in the development of successful pricing strategies, Price to Win inputs, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements



Support the identification, vetting, and final negotiation of teaming agreements that facilitate business partnerships



Attend partner meetings and government and industry sponsored events, including industry days, procurement forecasts, conferences, and networking, as needed.



Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:



 



At minimum a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or Engineering. 



No less than 6 years of experience of capture and business development  



Experience across full life-cycle of business development activities to include market & customer research, capture management and proposal development. 



Demonstrated experience in identifying and winning professional services contracts



Must be articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of personalities and individuals from various backgrounds such as program managers, executive management, government contracting office, and industry professionals. 



Collaborate and manage diverse teams and provide quality input and recommendations aimed at improving business development success.  



Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 



GovWin, Gov Contract Opportunities, FPDS.



Federal/Defense professional services market. 



Abilities and Skills:



 



Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and high attention to detail.



Self-motivated with minimal oversight.



Personnel Management skill.



Understand and can communicate back complex technical information in laymen’s terms both verbally and in written form.



 



Security Clearance Requirements:



 



Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, as required.
