Head of e-Commerce, Berkshire, to £70,000 + benefits

This company has been setting the industry standard in quality and customer service since 2004. With significant growth plans, the business is now embarking on a hugely exciting period of digitisation, as it looks to transform how it takes its products to market. Along with significant investment in website and infrastructure to support their digital ambition, the company is now looking to appoint a talented and commercially astute Head of e-Commerce, to take ownership of the online trading strategy, and help turn the business into a £100M e-commerce powerhouse.

You’ll have significant, demonstrable experience (5 - 10 yrs +) of defining e-commerce strategies with a focus on maximising online sales and profitability, and delivering online channel performance improvements.

You’ll be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day trading of the online business, and beyond trading you’ll ensure that technical channel abilities not only meet, but exceed customer expectations.

It goes without saying that you will possess an excellent understanding of eCommerce and digital marketing best practice, but as a key member of the senior leadership team you’ll also be a passionate evangelist about how e-commerce can fundamentally change the face of a business. You’ll inspire others, and you’ll want to take them on the journey with you.

Responsibilities

Define & execute the day-to-day trading strategy, with a focus on maximising sales & profitability

*

Deliver a step change in new customer acquisition strategy across PPC, SEO & Social channels

*

Oversee eventual in-house migration of digital marketing, from agency management

*

Ownership of online P&L, ensuring key performance metrics are defined, measurable & reported

*

Ensure e-Commerce alignment with broader business & internal sales teams

*

Ensure website performance, availability, functionality & usability meets customers needs

*

Drive A/B/Multivariate site testing & lead on-site sales conversion improvements

*

Identify self-service improvements such as account/ordering abilities

*

Drive migration of existing customers to lower cost base digital channels

*

Build business cases for, and lead, key business transformation projects

*

Provide thought leadership & evangelise best practice for wider business

*

Explore new technologies & ways of working that will drive new sales opportunities & improve CX

*

Own strategy for customer lifetime value, re-engagement & retention

*

Experienced targeting defined customer segments with relevant products & category offers

*

Ensure product assortment is readily available online, with correct & optimised product data

About You

*

5 - 10 yrs + demonstrable experience defining & leading eCommerce strategy

*

Highly collaborative, with a successful track record of delivering revenue growth

*

A strong team player, you'll be adept at building effective business relationships

*

An excellent communicator, with strong stakeholder management skills

*

Strong commercial acumen, with a strong focus on sales & profitability

*

Ambition to build & be part of a market leading e-Commerce business

*

B2B/construction industry experience would be advantageous

*

Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies including PIM/ERP

*

Highly analytical, able to interpret and translate data into actionable deliverables

*

Strong team management, development & mentoring skills

*

Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing & eCommerce best practice

*

A deep understanding of e-commerce & customer journey best practice

*

Abreast of industry trends, existing technology, and what's coming next

*

Experience with leading e-Commerce platforms, such as Magento

*

Above all, as a e-Commerce evangelist, you’ll want to take others on the journey with you
