About the role: 



The Manager Operational Performance will lead and support Operational Performance Improvements for Network Operations.  This position will draw upon technical expertise and systems thinking to complete validation, develop strategies for continuous improvement, analyze performance trends, understand critical gaps in process, and implement innovative improvements to address the needs of our clients.



As an individual contributor, this manager will have high visibility and coordinate with business partners across OptumRx by executing continuous improvements through problem identification, and root cause analysis. This leader will support development and innovation initiatives related to network performance, data analytics, issue resolution, and/or other activities not fully defined in the operational improvement space.



Perform full process improvement including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and maintenance. Lead analysis and collaborative design activities, serving as a liaison between various business segments and IT teams to strategize solutions that support long term business and technology objectives.  Work on-demand needs and look for opportunities to reduce manual work, implement data and automation improvements, and ensure deliverables align with business requirements and timelines.

Primary Responsibilities:



Drive and support implementation of tools, process, and policy redesign to enhance business value



Work closely with business/technology teams to improve technical design for processes with automation potential



Project execution: lead/facilitate improvement projects, measure and validate project results, and facilitate successful implementation of all facets of process improvements or changes identified (need strong change management skills)



Develop new processes using core workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable, and easy to understand



Drive the creation of breakthrough insights into business processes which unify and align strategy resulting in enhanced stakeholder value



Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and is comfortable presenting to everyone from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents, and external clients and coalitions



Collaborate with Operations teams to enable stable/ Zero surprise operations: defining appropriate metrics to gage processes performance, providing insights to critical operations problems



Required Qualifications:



Proven hands-on experience partnering with business segments by managing projects/initiatives with multiple workstreams, including development and execution of detailed work plans



Proven ability to support identification of end-to-end technology solutions to reduce manual entries, increase productivity, and improve accuracy in an operational environment.



Proven analytical and complex problem-solving skills to introduce innovative solutions



Experience facilitating meetings with internal/external stakeholders and leadership to discuss projects, deliverable timelines and move tasks to completion



Advanced computer skills with strong proficiency in MS software such as: Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint



Proven experience with process development, improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes



 Preferred Qualifications:



Bachelors degree or relevant work experience



Database skills with proven experience using SQL Server/Coding



 Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented



Lean Six Sigma certification
