Environment & Sustainability Advisor
Perth – with occasional travel to company sites & project locations
Up to £60,000 per annum + Benefits dependent on experience
Civil Engineering/ Utilities Experience Required

We are seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our client’s team in Perth. This role is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and knowledgeable professional with deep Civil Engineering/ Utilities experience to drive environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and best practices across our operations.

The Role
As an Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, minimising environmental impact, and fostering a culture of sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Conducting environmental audits, inspections, and assessments to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Providing expert guidance to internal teams on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with operations, engineering, and health and safety teams to integrate environmental considerations into decision-making.
Monitoring environmental performance, analysing data, and preparing reports for management review.
Coordinating with regulatory bodies and third-party consultants on environmental compliance, permitting, and reporting.
Developing and delivering environmental training programmes and awareness initiatives.
Assisting in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and management plans for new projects.
Staying up to date with environmental legislation, emerging trends, and sustainability innovations.
Supporting the development and implementation of sustainability targets and initiatives.What We’re Looking For
A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
3.5 years of ESG Experience in Water, Civils or General Utilities
Professional certifications such as IEMA or NEBOSH are required.
Proven experience in environmental management or sustainability, ideally within the Civil Engineering and Utilities sectors.
Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and industry best practices.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on environmental data.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Experience with environmental management software is advantageous.
Flexibility to travel occasionally to company sites and project locations as required and a full UK driving licence.This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated environmental professional to contribute to our company’s sustainability strategy and make a real impact on the operations of a growing and busy Civil Engineering/ Utilities Contractor.
