JR are working with an International financial services business to find a fantastic Payments Accountant to join their newly formed finance shared services in Nottingham City Centre. A brand new role, this will manage bank administration tasks, assisting with the payments process, and accounting for payments for entities in multiple currencies, across multiple banking platforms/

You will be experienced in building strong relationships with banks and internal stakeholders to enable timely and efficient payments to be made. A continuous focus on improvement and upholding robust controls whilst working flexibly to meet the evolving need of our dynamic business is essential to the success of this role.

Responsibilities:

* Support directors and operational teams on all cash and banking queries

* Maintain treasury governance and controls, including payment authorisation processes

* Take responsibility for managing payments across multiple ledgers and entities in multiple currencies, and using multiple banking platforms, and for ensuring payments are approved and released promptly

* Assisting with the management accounting process where requested

* Work closely with the Payments Processing Manager to deliver process improvements and efficiencies within the department

* Ensure the team and business adhere to all payments processes and that appropriate controls are in place

* Work with the Treasury/Cash forecasting team to ensure sound management of cash requirements across all bank accounts, in all currencies

* Assist with system development/migrations

* Complete all period end tasks according to the Groups period close timetable, team timetable and ensure all RCM tasks and SOx requirements are met

Experience

* Part Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA) or AAT qualifed

* Excellent understanding of treasury and payments procedures and techniques

* Experience of working in a large organisation’s finance function

* Experience working with foreign subsidiaries and multiple currencies

* Experience complying with SOx requirements

* Experience of using Oracle Cloud ERP and Kyriba would be an advantage

This role is being advertised by JR on behalf of the client.

This role offers remote working two days a week, with three days based at their Nottingham City Centre offices.
