Duties

Summary



This position is located in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Associate Director - Quality, Office of Quality Operations (OQO), Operations Support Division. The Operations Support Divisions Mission is to provide support for the Quality Management System (QMS) by developing requisition documents, processing credit card purchases, develop and provide QMS training, and prepare budget formulation and monitoring.



Responsibilities



As a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist, you will:



Ensure processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained.



Prepare meeting material and coordinate the conduct of quarterly management reviews to assess the effectiveness of the QMS including progress in continually improving the QMS.



Develop and provide training across the BEP on ISO-9001 and QMS.



Oversee budget formulation processes, make recommendations for budget distribution and tracks budget.

Represent BEP at conferences and meetings and for the purpose of formulating plans and policies concerned with work programs.



Travel Required



Occasional travel - 10 Nights per year.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. Therefore it is imperative that applicants exercise candor and honesty when answering background questionnaires, especially as it relates to arrest, employment, education, finances, illegal drug use, and/or other criminal history. Falsification discovered in security documents or during the background investigation process may result in an immediate negative suitability determination or immediate revocation of your interim clearance (if applicable).



Qualifications



You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.



Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

Experience as a manager of a manufacturing process / work unit in accordance with Quality Management Systems Requirements, Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM). AND

Process improvement using techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Baldrige and Quality Audit to eliminate waste, improve quality, and to assure compliance to product quality standards/requirements.



In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Years Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:



A one year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
