Regional Sales Manager - Fleet

About the Job

Magellan, a pioneer in the GPS industry, is seeking a Field Application Specialist (FAS) to drive the successful execution and commercialization of our products for the Fleet industry. These products include truck navigation devices and software. Magellans value added services for fleet include ELD compliant Hours of Service, and Magellans Return-to-Route platform for municipal fleets.

Key Responsibilities

The Field Application Specialist will be part of the Magellan Fleet team and is a lead technical interface with Magellan fleet customers. The FAS provides pre-sales and post-sales support to Magellans Sales team and technical support to fleet customers, ensuring smooth and ultimately successful product definition and design through all phased of the development life cycle and product launch.

The FAS will acquire in-depth knowledge of all Magellan fleet products, to provide expert support fleet customers for Magellan fleet solution integration, deployment and improving overall user experience.

This position involves close collaboration with sales, marketing, and R & D to define and clarify customers product requirements, and creating development schedules that deliver timely and quality product releases. A strong technical background in fleet industry is desired. Job duties include gathering and synthesizing requirements from customers, and writing proposals.

Experience and capabilities

- 2+ years field application sales support experience or engineering role with customer facing responsibilities for enterprise device and software products. Ability to work effectively with customers.

- Strong organizational and project management skills: ability to track and prioritize multiple issues and projects.

- Strong technical acumen. Actively participate and contribute to technical designs discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers and testers on addressing challenges and form mitigation plans.

- Demonstrated ability and experience to influence, develop productive working relationships and lead to successful product delivery with both sales and R & D teams.

- Strong analytical and communication skills, a risk mitigation mindset and exhibit appropriate levels of urgency.

- Requirements and execution driven. Strong sense of ownership. Proactively remove program obstacles, and willingness to go above and beyond to chase down loose ends that lead to successful sales.

- Solid understanding of product specifications.

- Creative problem solver.

- Strong written and oral communications skills, coupled with a strong sense of intellectual honesty.

- Ability to synthesize and clearly articulate complex concepts and requirements.

- A team player with high professional standards who can share and learn from others, but at the same time be able to work very independently and lead by influence.

- Travel up to 75% to interface with customers, attend tradeshows and demonstrate products.

- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.

This position can be located anywhere in the U.S.
