Maths Teacher - Permanent - Sep 2020 start

Your new role

Hays are working in partnership with an Outstanding Alternative Provision in North Leicestershire who are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher on a permanent basis. The school accommodates for students aged 7-16 who have struggled to access mainstream education. The school provides specialist education and care to students with a statement of Special Education Needs. These can include Moderate and Complex learning difficulties and SEMH needs.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Maths across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. You will plan and deliver fun and engaging lessons that follow the national curriculum but also incorporate a termly theme. You will teach Maths at both GCSE and Functional Skills level. You will support students with their wellbeing and encourage personal development. You will work proactively with other team members including Teaching Assistant support to promote a caring and safe learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed

For this role, you will hold a Teaching qualification (QTS / NQT or equivalent) and have recent teaching experience. You will be a Maths specialist who has delivered the subject at both GCSE and Functional Skill level. A dedicated Teacher, you will be committed to getting the best results for your students. Ideally you will have experience of teaching and supporting students with Special Educational Needs including Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. You will be a resilient character with good behaviour management skills.
