OVERVIEW OF POSITION:



Responsible for performing duties involving procurement of medical and non-medical supplies and equipment, processing of appropriate paperwork from order to payment and maintaining the Materials Management filing and computer systems



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



* Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality and care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.

* Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures.

* Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

* Procures medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.

* Expedites the purchase of supplies requested through purchase requisitions and departmental order guides within 24 hours.

* Follows-up on all backorder items and finds alternative supplies when necessary.

* Returns materials as required for credit or exchange to suppliers.

* Interviews vendors representative and reviews/evaluates vendor performances and products.

* Resolves receiving and vendor invoice discrepancies. Follows-up on all backordered materials.

* Consults with department managers regarding product availability and researches alternative sources.

* Prepares reports for departmental and accounting purposes and ensures proper document flow between Materials Management and other departments.

* Controls and accounts for all purchases orders issued by Materials Management.

* Distributes departmental correspondence, purchase orders, invoice discrepancies, credit requests, change orders, requests for quotation and incoming/outgoing mail.

* Other related duties as assigned.



EDUCATION:



* High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Includes special certification required for specific jobs.

* Bachelors degree preferred.



EXPERIENCE:



Minimum:



* Over 1 year and up to and including 3 years of experience.

* Experience with computerized inventory system.



Preferred:



* 1-3 years experience in the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment in the healthcare field.

* BS/BA in supply chain or relevant field.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:



* Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g. ReQlogic)

* A strong analytical mindset

* Outstanding organizational skills

* Great verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
