AEX is a business unit of Arconic (NYSE: ARNC). Arconic is seeking an Electrical Engineerto join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN. Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to focus on the use of electrical experience and skills to provide quality equipment, facilities, services, and consultations that are capable of meeting Engineering Department and plant requirements at a competitive cost. These services include equipment concepts, layout, and design of new equipment and facilities, and revisions and improvements to the same equipment. Essential_Functions: The Electrical Engineering Technician is the first level of electrical support in the manufacturing plant providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to assist people with addressing electrical maintenance issues to meeting customer demand, solve technical problems, and meet production goals. The primary function of the Salaried Electrical Technician is to plan, oversee and coordinate electrical technical support for maintenance execution of facility, equipment and machinery. This position is responsible for: Teaching hourly craftsmen how to execute front line trouble shoo activities on equipment in area of responsibility. Follow all safety procedures LOTOTO/PPE/Confined Space/Burning P Fall Protection. Creating a proactive maintenance environment by driving preventa maintenance and other planned work. Assisting in performing root cause analysis with the goal to eli maintenance downtime. Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste especially as related to maintenance downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement. Providing any necessary input to the Maintenance Shift Superviso regarding applicable labor issues within the work area. Working closely with production areas to understand their key is equipment, and assist with improvements. * Selecting materials and equipment, and advice to buyers concerning procurement. * Providing technical advice to maintenance personnel. * Coordinating, expediting, and providing liaison services in support of installation, revision, and maintenance work of equipment within the facility. Basic_Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Drives, and panel views Must be willing to work some weekends. Ability to work 7am EST - 3:00 pm EST A minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering and maintenance experience in a heavy equipment plant environment Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United State Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred_Qualifications: Working knowledge of industrial computer control systems such as motor controls systems, and man-machining interfaces Strong P.C. skills including Microsoft Office software and basic tools Excellent communication skills are a must as well as an aptitude detailed work requiring a high degree of accuracy Experience programming robots in ABB Capital Project Management Experience working with Hydraulics and pneumatics Well-developed communication, leadership, and problem-solving sk Sense of urgency under pressure for the decision-making process Experience troubleshooting networked components Experience with combustion systems a plus Show moreShow less
