Description

The Association of Oregon Counties is recruiting for a Public Affairs Associate. The Public Affairs Associate will support AOCs overall communication strategy. The public affairs associate coordinates communication activities, including media relations for AOC. This position requires strong writing and digital media skills, and the ability to think strategically.



Requirements

- Support planning and promotion of AOC, AOC programs, and AOC services through traditional, digital and emerging platforms.

- Support refinement of AOCs brand identity.

- Manage and execute AOCs content strategy and editorial calendar.

- Work with staff to build communication strategies for initiatives, legislative issues, member engagement, and storytelling to support AOC.

- Serve as AOCs lead writer for items including news releases, alerts, talking points, speeches, fact sheets, newsletters, and other content as needed.

- Oversee and facilitate development and dissemination of AOC publications.

- Manage AOCs digital media efforts, including website, social media, and e-newsletters.

- Triage and respond to inquiries from members and the general public.

- Maintain cooperative working relationships with other AOC staff, members, county staff members, government agencies and other elected officials and their offices.
