Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is proud to have received an "Outstanding" rating from the health care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following an inspection in February 2017. The CQC highlighted that patient care was at the heart of the service and this is testimony to the commitment, skill and pride of the team at the hospital.

Our highly successful, purpose-built hospital, deals with complex surgery and a vast range of specialities involving some 300 consultants. There are 80 bedrooms, an 8 bed Level 3 critical care unit and 6 theatres (2 Stryker laparoscopic and 2 laminar flow). These facilities, and high standards of care, make us one of the leading providers of private healthcare in the area. Our staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive, headed by a caring and effective management team. We're close to the city centre and central railway station.

The Critical Care unit provides level 2 and 3 care to a range of specialities including Cardiac, liver, neuro and general patients. As head of department you would be expected to lead the Critical Care nursing team and RMO's, ensuring clinical safety and excellence.

The opportunity

As our Head of Department you will:

Provide strong leadership to the department

Be assuming overall accountability for clinical effectiveness and operational management.

Form part of a strong clinical leadership team. Reporting to matron and deputy matron.

The person

To succeed as a Critical Care Head of department you will:

Need current experience in critical care in a leadership role.

Have a knowledge of general provision of intensive care services and CQC KLOE's specific to Critical Care.

Have experience of clinical leading a team and managing change

Be caring, compassionate and be able to provide clinical leadership as well managerial leadership

Have experience of clinical governance and understand benchmarking

Have a proven track record of leading a clinical team successfully.

Be NMC Registered.

Be educated to Degree Standard

Salary - £40,000-£44,000 per annum (Dependant On Experience)

Contract Type - Permanent
Weekly Hours - 37.5
