Description

Do you have expertise in working with young people with complex needs and behavioural difficulties? Do you believe that all young people have the capacity to learn, regardless of their life situation? Do you want to be a part of a team that is leading the way, by changing the futures of excluded and marginalised young people?

You will be working with students who have been unable to sustain a place in mainstream education, including those with complex, high behaviour and additional learning needs. You will be advocating for our most vulnerable learners, specialising in support of children looked after and previously looked after while inspiring them to learn and achieve.

Working closely with the Headteacher and teaching staff, you’ll assess each pupil’s educational, emotional and behavioural needs, and then devise tailored support programmes to meet them. These could include individual sessions, group work, family visits and other interventions.

Main responsibilities include:

* Leading and providing Duty support for staff and students

* Supporting staff in the completion of behaviour management plans and Risk Assessments

* Leading on the recording of data for behaviour including physical interventions/exclusions/duty calls

* Organising and delivering 1:1 and small group targeted support, advice, guidance, practical help and mentoring for learners as appropriate to their needs and context

* Establishing close collaborative and informative relationships with a range of partners including, but not limited to Social Services, YOT, police, parents and communities

* Facilitating reintegration, restorative and class meetings to address and prevent harm caused by students as well as relationships and bullying incidents
