Compass Life Sciences have partnered with an exciting and rapidly growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) that are expanding their presence and footprint globally. As a well-known international specialist partner across the sector, our client has built a reputation of driving innovative solutions since its incorporation approaching 30 years ago.

As part of their international growth, our client is looking to expand upon its 4250 global headcount in the US and are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to play a key role in the establishment of their presence in this market. Offering solutions that solve scientific problems, and improve R&D productivity, our client is a key partner to world leading pharmaceutical, biotech and other industries, speeding up their time to market and lowering the cost of innovation.

THE ROLE
As a Talented Business Developer within the Development Services business unit, you will cover a range of solutions including small molecule service from drug substance, drug production, and development as well as stability studies.

The core focus of this role involves the promotion of Drug Substance and Drug product development services across assigned territories, building a robust and sustainable pipeline of accounts. In addition to this you will be responsible for:

Consultative sales and business development with a focus on bringing in net new accounts into the business as well as account management and up-selling into existing accounts
Utilize efficient market analysis and outreach methodologies to grow business and relationships into multi-year contracts spanning pre-clinical and IND and NDA to commercial launch
Interact with R&D and procurement/sourcing teams of big and small, incl., specialty biopharma companies to qualify the company as a preferred supplier and position the organisation as an innovative solution oriented CDMO
Deliver technical and business presentations to key pharma decision makers and representing the company at trade shows and industry forums
Strong relationship builder with existing connects within the biopharma industry and consistent YOY sales performance and ability to close targets of $7-9 Mn annually

REQUIREMENTS
Basic academic qualifications are B.S. or M.S. in a scientific/technical field from a top-tier University; advanced degree such as Ph.D. (with a business specialization) preferred, but not mandatory
Scientific / technical education/experience can be relaxed in lieu of excellent sales track record in the pharma industry
Must have worked in a global environment with a geographically dispersed delivery and support team and well-versed with client engagement process from prospecting to closing
Proven track record selling services and nurturing relationships with R&D and procurement/sourcing heads of small, mid-sized, specialty and large pharma and biotech companies in the relevant territories.

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Development profession that has both a proven track record of successful sales and achievements, coupled with a minimum of 3 tears working within the CDMO or similar industry. You should also bring an excellent understanding of marketing, business, sales, and the technical aspects of the pharma development and R&D process.
