Can you confidently demonstrate your own leadership qualities, advocate for individuals and negotiate on behalf of the employer? We are looking for a suitably experienced / qualified Mental Health / Learning Disability practitioner for a Commissioning Manager post. The post will be based in London for a Mental Health and Learning Disability Commissioning Team and will involve working across London and the South East in the first instance, but the post holder will also be required to travel nationally on occasions. The post holder will be responsible to the Commissioning Manager, and will be responsible for the effective commissioning and review of complex mental health and learning disability care packages for patients.

The post holder will work closely in partnership with the Mental Health and Learning Disability Commissioners and the Personalisation Team to ensure:

Commissioned packages achieve excellent outcomes for patients, their families and carers.

Public spend across mental health and learning disability patient groups is actively managed.

Providers are supported to understand funding application procedures and develop their own commissioning expertise and capacity.

Packages of care are regularly reviewed and patients cared for in the least restrictive environments in line with Care Programme Approach.

Constructive relationships are built and maintained with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders - for example NHS England Secure Commissioners and Local Authority colleagues.

That the intelligence gained from this work is used to inform and improve services now and in the future, working to support the local strategic transformation and reform plans and align with a range of integrated health and social care strategies.
