One of the UK’s leading housing developers are recruiting within their Design & Technical department based in Northamptonshire. The person they appoint will join as an Assistant Technical Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis.

This growing housing association is renowned for providing high quality, low cost homes across the Midlands, East and South East building circa 2,000 new homes every year.

The person they appoint as Assistant Technical Coordinator will assist with ensuring that all information is available to Construction and other departments to meet the project programme for allocated sites and projects. This will include assisting and supporting the existing team with providing a complete and comprehensive package of technical documents to site to meet Build deadlines.

You will be expected to liaise with and advise other departments on engineering and technical service issues associated with allocation sites and projects and interface matters and to provide backup and information flow. You will work with consultants, suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the preparation of technical support information in accordance with the programme and budget for allocated sites. This position will report directly to the Technical Manager and involve working closely with the Technical Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities;
• Assist with organising enquiries, designs and quotations; ensure timely receipt of information and provision of information to all relevant departments.
• The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy, effective and efficient manner.
• The ability to get on with people together with good communication skills.
• Brief and manage external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information for allocated sites to an agreed programme.
• Preparation of the Pre-Contract Development Programme for allocated sites, ensuring it is accessible to all and up to date.
• Prepare technical specifications in line with the requirements determined by the land acquisition / client requirements.
• Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspections as necessary.
• General liaison and co-ordination between other parties, both internal and external.
• Respond to site and sales queries and resolve Technical / Construction problems.

This position would suit an enthusiastic architectural or civil engineering professional within the house building or construction industry. It is important you possess a working knowledge of planning and building regulations, NHBC, Highway Authority, Sewerage Authority and Utility Design requirements as well as legislation relevant to the construction industry.

In return, this housing association is offering a competitive salary up to £40,000 plus package (negotiable dependent on individual experience).
